REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some system need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

2. REMOVE TIMING BELT

Refer to the procedures under " Remove Timing Belt " 2UZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: TIMING BELT: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

3. REMOVE INLET WATER HOUSING

(a) Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the inlet water housing.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and inlet water housing with water inlet.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the inlet water housing.

4. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 stud bolts, nut, water pump and gasket.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the water by-pass pipe.
